Michelle started her practice in 2004. Over the years it has evolved into a team approach focused on retirement and estate planning strategies, portfolio management, insurance, employee benefits and expat/employment transitions in or out of the United States. She works with attorneys in a broad group of specialties and regional accountants that are local for the client.
With 14 years in practice with AXA she has obtained her Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP) designation, Series 7and 66 securities registration licenses and a life, health and disability income insurance license. She has been fortunate to participate with both the At Retirement program at The Wharton School and the AXA Institute at Harvard. She is a believer in both experience and spending time hearing from the brightest minds on both global and domestic concerns at retirement, investment options and strategies, and utilizing big data as technology progresses.
She brings broad spectrum solutions to client meetings by asking questions, clarifying options and using academic analytics to determine the right mix of process and implementation. Getting to know her clients, digging deeper to clarify what a client is tracking and where they may be exposed to unnecessary risk is at the heart of her daily focus.
Her employee education work ranges from offering professional continuing education credits in New York and Connecticut, one on one planning services for employees and consulting with employers and brokers on the latest concerns and solutions in benefits and plan documents. She frequently consults on Connecticut Teachers Pension and its effect on Social Security and spousal considerations.
As an ex-pat herself, she enjoys the complexity of working with families and their professional team of accountants and attorneys with international estate tax planning challenges. She pulls in the appropriate resources to support small business continuation planning or families doing planning work for a disabled family member.
Michelle lives in South Salem with her husband Denis and daughters. With her family in Denmark she values travel and teaching her daughters about the cultures of the world. When home, she likes being on the hiking trails and reservoir behind her house or enjoying the arts and culture of New York City.
